Miners Revenge Mountain Bike Race |
|
|
|
|
|
The second annual Miners Revenge Mountain Bike race will be held at the Adventure Mine on Saturday July 10th with races starting at noon. The mine will be closed for tours to allow the racers to ride through the underground portion of the race course. The course is going to be longer this year with an additional 1.5 miles of new trail added to each lap.

Hailed as the best ragtime/boogie-woogie pianist in the world. Known as a "Ragtimist" (a term he coined), Bob Milne plays and enjoys a wide variety of musical styles. He specializes in ragtime and boogie-woogie that developed in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Bob Milne will be performing the “America” concert, a series of American songs starting from the American Revolution and going forward through the Civil War, WWI & II, a section for the 9/11 disaster and a glorious finale.

A career spanning over 37 years performing to sold-out audiences with memorable bands Traffic and Fleetwood Mac, as well as recording with some of music’s legendary icons, including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, George Harrison and the Rolling Stones. He has penned and recorded memorable gold and platinum songs, including ‘Feeling Alright’, ‘Let It Flow’ and his smash-hit single, ‘We Just Disagree’. In 2004 Dave Mason and the band Traffic received one of the highest honors of their careers when they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Adding to his impressive discography, Mason released his 2009 solo LP, "26 Letters ~ 12 Notes" and is touring through the summer.

The weekend event will be open to park visitors from 8 AM to 8 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 8 AM to 4 PM on Sunday. Battery “D” will interpret army life of the period, demonstrating artillery and small arms drills, period cooking and soldiers’ pastimes.
